Applying for a subcontractor permit

Are you going to work or place objects in the vicinity of tram or metro tracks or above or near metro tunnels? If so, you must apply for a permit. Certain rules and regulations apply to how such work is carried out.

Local Railways Act

The Local Railways Act went into force on 1 December 2015. As of this date, the board of the City Region of Amsterdam is responsible for both the regional traffic and transport policy as well as the metro and tram infrastructure. The board is responsible for setting up and managing (include maintenance) of the local railway infrastructure within the municipalities of Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Diemen and Ouder-Amstel.

All permits are issued by the Metro and Tram department of the municipality of Amsterdam.
