Metro station travel rules

The following rules apply in the metro stations and on the platforms.

 

Do not smoke

Smoking is not permitted in the station or on our vehicles.

Valid proof of travel

Did you check in? You must have a valid travel pass on the platform and on the vehicles.

Metro gates

After checking in, only one person may pass through the gate. Children up to and including three years of age may go through together with a parent or adult superviser.  

Noise nuisance

Please do not disturb your fellow travelers with loud (phone) discussions or music.

Bicycle permitted

You may purchase a special ticket and take your bicycle onboard, but not in the rush hours, 07:00 – 09:00 and 16:00 – 18:30. Your bicycle must not cause a nuisance to other passengers.  
 

Eating and drinking is permitted

For your safety and that of other passengers, please use a lid on your (hot) drinks. Food with an unpleasant smell is not permitted. Please keep stations and vehicles clean.

No feet on the seats

No feet on the seats. This keeps the seats clean and available for your fellow passengers.

Strollers and wheelchairs

Please place your stroller or wheelchair in the designated spot. Fold your stroller up when there is no room available. Wheelchairs take precedence over strollers.
 

No alcohol or drugs

Alcohol and drugs may not be used in the station or in the vehicles.

Photography

Photography, including recording videos or films, is not permitted in this station, unless you have permission from GVB.
 

Video surveillance

There is camera surveillance in the station and in the vehicles. GVB staff cannot access the images.
