With OV-chip mobile, you can check in and out using your smartphone in the trams, buses, metros and trains of all public transport companies in the Netherlands. That's one less card you have to carry on you!


Currently, you can only travel at the full fare base rate using a balance on your e-purse
OV-chip mobile is a new manner of traveling that is still being developed. Currently, you can only travel at the full fare base rate using an e-purse balance. So, for the moment, you can't travel using a season ticket with this new method. To ensure you always have a sufficient balance on your e-purse, we offer as standard automatic loading of a balance. Naturally, you choose the amount that should be uploaded.
All public transport companies, KPN, VodafoneZiggo and Translink are working hard on to quickly introduce more options for OV-chip mobile.

What requirements must your smartphone and subscription satisfy to travel using OV-chip mobile?
  • You have an Android smartphone and a subscription with Vodafone, KPN, Telfort, Simyo or Yes Telecom. 
  • Your operating system is Android 4.4 or higher.
  • Your smartphone has the NFC feature.
  • You have an NFC+ SIM card (Vodafone) or an NFC SIM card for other providers.
