Piet Heintunnel closed, use public transport!

The Piet Heintunnel will be closed to all traffic from 25 June 2021 to 30 September 2022. The tram will continue to ride through the tunnel. Do you live or work on Zeeburgereiland or IJburg? Or are you travelling to a destination in these areas? In that case, public transport is a great alternative.

We offer you the smart travel alternative

Tram 26 is running very frequently between Central Station and IJburg, and it will continue to run right through the Piet Heintunnel during the maintenance work there. With the exception of a few weekends, though.
The first weekend is Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 July 2021.
Due to the maintenance work, the tram temporarily cannot run through the tunnel and will be replaced by shuttle bus 76. This bus stops at all the tram stops and also at an extra stop near Rietlandpark. Because the tunnel is closed, the bus will run a different route, via the Amsterdamsebrug, Zeeburgerdijk and Panamalaan to the Piet Heinkade, and then further along the normal route. This results in extra travel time, especially during rush hour.

From Amstel Station and Muiderpoort Station, bus 37 is also a good alternative for the car. This bus runs between Amstel Station and Noord via Muiderpoort Station and Zeeburgereiland.
