Cancel season tickets and travel products

The coronavirus measures have led to many questions about early or interim cancellation of different types of season tickets. An overview of the options is provided below.
You can cancel in different ways. The fastest method is with a MijnGVB account.

Year season ticket

You can cancel your annual monthly-paid season ticket in MijnGVB. You cancel as of the first subsequent month and depending on your payment debit date. Note! You will then lose the first two free months at the end of the season ticket period. 

If you purchased a season ticket using a GVB Service & Ticket counter, you can request a cancellation via the Customer Service web form. It also applies here that the cancellation will be as of the following month. Make sure you indicate which date (retroactive dates are not possible), your OV-chipkaart number and its the expiration date, name/address/city, and your bank account number. You will then receive a message from us indicating your season ticket was cancelled. You will still need to go to a GVB vending machine to pick up your cancellation! Make sure that your season ticket really has been cancelled.

Business annual season ticket

Your employer must do this. Your Employer can cancel the season ticket for you. 
If you acquired a business season ticket via the Municipality of Amsterdam, Sigra, or UVA, you can cancel the season ticket yourself. For instructions, we refer you to the manual you can find in the business portal. You will receive an email indicating that your season ticket has been cancelled. You still need to go to a GVB vending machine to pick up your cancellation! Make sure that your season ticket was actually cancelled.

Month season ticket

A monthly season ticket can not be cancelled in the interim. 
You can only prematurely cancel a Randstad Noord Zone up to and including the second day of the duration of the season ticket when you have not used it to travel. You can complete the Customer Service web form at our website. Remember to indicate your OV-chipkaart number and its expiry date, and the bank account number.

GVB Flex season ticket

You can cancel GVB Flex as of three months after the start date of the product per the first of the month. You can request the cancellation using your MijnGVB account. You will then receive a message indicating you must go to a GVB vending machine to pick up the cancellation! Make sure your GVB Flex season ticket was actually cancelled per the cancel date. Take into account that when you once again order GVB Flex, the first three months that you could not cancel will start again.

Hour, day, multi-day ticket

These tickets remain valid and usable minimally to the end of 2020.
