GVB Only season ticket
Your GVB Only season tickets provides you with unlimited travel on all GVB trams, (night) buses and metros: no fussing with zones and star amounts. This season ticket is not valid with other transportation companies such as EBS and NS. Hence, the name GVB Only.
Do you only travel on GVB routes? The GVB Only season ticket is more economical than a three zone ster season ticket and covers a wider travel area than a two zone season ticket. The season ticket is available for a month or year. The year season ticket provides you with 12 months of travel for the price of 10!

Month season ticket
The GVB Only month season ticket is available at more than 100 OV-chipkaart Ticket Vending Machines and Add Value Machines. Look for a sales point in your area with the address finder on ov-chipkaart.nl. Or, purchase online via the web shop on ov-chipkaart.nl. Of pick it up at GVB Tickets & Info. You can start your month season ticket on any day of the week. Thus, you are not bound to a calendar month.
Year season ticket
A year season ticket is the most economical and provides the easiest way to travel. You do not pay for 12 months, just 10 months for an entire year of travel on GVB! All year season tickets can be paid for automatically from your bank account (on proof of identification). You season ticket can start on any day. Thus, you are not bound to a calendar year.
You may only prematurely cancel a season ticket for a justifiable reason, such as moving house or a long-term illness. See also the refund and duplicate regulations.Terms and conditions for private season ticket (pdf)
Three ways to purchase
- Cash or cash card payment at one of our Tickets & Info service points.
- A single payment where you authorize GVB to debit the entire amount from your account for the purchase of your season ticket.
- Installments where you authorize GVB to debit the entire amount in 10 monthly installments from your account for the purchase of your season ticket.
Season ticket via your employer
A large number of companies in Amsterdam and surrounding areas have what is called a large-scale usage contract with GVB. Employees at these companies have the option of requesting a year season ticket via their employers. Check with your personnel or salary department to see whether you can take advantage of this option.

Restitution for a season ticket is possible but depends on its start date. It is only possible to submit a GVB Only annual season ticket to GVB. The time elapsed for this season ticket must not exceed nine months and nine days.
Handing in a card for a refund at GVB is only possible at the kiosk at Stationplein CS. This also applies to handing in week or month season ticket cards for refunds.
An overview is given below of how to calculate the reimbursement amount.

For year season tickets, the reimbursed amount of the fare for the season ticket is reduced by 10% for each entire month that it is used calculated from the start date. Hand in a season ticket in the middle of a month and the reimbursed amount for that month is calculated according to the rule for a month season ticket (see table above).
The deduction of a € 5.00 administrative cost also applies in this case.
If you have proper proof, such as a doctor's note or death certificate, it is then possible to obtain reimbursement for a year season ticket that is retroactive.
In the event of loss or theft, a year season ticket can be requested once only. A year season ticket is always a travel product on a personal OV-chipkaart.
You can block a personal OV-chipkaart in the event of loss or theft. A card that is blocked will not be unblocked (to prevent misuse). Thus, it is advisable to immediately request a duplicate card as soon as you report your card as lost or stolen.
How to obtain a duplicate card:

. Report the loss and request a duplicate. OV-chipkaart Customer Service will check a few details when you report the loss by phone and then generate a new card loaded with your new year season ticket. They will send the card to GVB.
- If needed, GVB can make an associated proof card. The card will then be mailed to the home address of the year season ticket holder.
