Section 16 - Lost and found

Passenger is obliged to inform Transport Company as soon as possible after having found an object or a sum of money. Transport Company is entitled to accept such an object or sum of money into its custody in exchange for a receipt. If the finder keeps the found object or the sum of money on him, he is obliged to do everything which can reasonably be expected of him in order to find the owner or loser.

In case of non-valuable objects, Transport Company is authorised to sell an object which was found by its staff or by someone else and which was given into its custody, after three months, or sooner when the object is not suitable for storage.

Transport Company must hand over a found object, the proceeds of a sold object in pursuance of subsection two, or the amount of a found sum of money to the rightful claimant, in case he comes forward within three years after surrender. In case the rightful claimant claims the proceeds of the sold found object, Transport Company may balance the safekeeping charges due and the administration fees with those proceeds.

Transport Company may charge an administration fee for handling a request concerning a lost object or a sum of money.
